Happy Wednesday!
We’re back. Jimmi and I have been in New Orleans for 9 days Touring, Eating, Dancing, Walking and Riding our way through the area. It was a great trip and we had some great company with us. Simultaneously we had a group of dancers on a cruise out of New Orleans joined by Ari Levitt. Yes they were on the Carnival Dream that was in the news last week with flooding from a burst water pipe. As many of the group said “Sadly, they were not in the flooded area so no free cruises for them.” But they have great stories to tell.
I’ll be posting pictures of our trip and if I get photos from the Dance Cruise I’ll make a post for that too. So stay tuned for those.
This Weekend
First – Friday the 11th I will be teaching the Sweetheart Schottische. You can bet this will be a great lesson. It’s always a popular dance on Friday nights and also a popular dance lesson. I’ll get us through the basic as quick as possible and onto some fun variations (embellishments). Lesson starts at 7pm and the dance is 8-11pm.
Second – Sunday the 13th is our last Sunday Funday for Swing dancing. Join me for a workshop lesson in West Coast Swing 5-6pm. Then dance and practice your Swing dances along with a few Nightclub Two-Steps and Country Two-Steps at the 2-hour dance from 6-8pm.
YouTube Channel Update
As many of you know we have a YouTube Channel. A few months ago we asked for help getting more of you to subscribe. The subscriber list is slowly growing. Many of the new subscribers are from around the country and the world. We started with about 153 a few months ago and we are now at 380. That’s great! Sunday Fundays now include a Dance Workshop (5-6pm) and Open Dancing Time (6-8pm) with music related to the Dance Workshop. There are two of these Fundays each month, one for West Coast Swing and one for Line Dancing.

These workshops require knowledge of the 12 Basics of WCS. A focus on technique as well as learning new moves and patterns.
OPEN DANCING
6-8pm • $8/person or $15/2 people
Swing music for WCS, ECS a few Nightclub Two-steps and if requested a Country Two-step and Waltz. Bring a friend or get your friends to meet at the Barn for some fun dancing time.

LINE DANCING WORKSHOPS
5-6pm • Workshop $12/person
These workshops will be a new Line Dance at an Improver level or 1.5 level. We recommend knowledge of several beginner Line Dances.
OPEN DANCING
6-8pm • $8/person or $15/2 people
Variety of music for the Line Dances. Levels include 1, 2 & 3. Dave will do a quick walkthrough of each dance then play the music. Bring your line dance friends and enjoy a couple hours of line dancing.
